Minnie Mouse has revealed she will be wearing Lanvin when she makes her appearance during the extension of Disneyland Paris’ twentieth anniversary celebrations next month.
In a video released by Lanvin, the first lady of Disney can be seen visiting the label’s studio, overseeing the design process and taking part in a fitting. Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz (below, with Minnie) says of Ms Mouse, “She adores jewellery, she adores colours, she adores gloss, bags, I mean, [she is] definitely a true fashionista”
It is therefore no surprise that Minnie’s chosen design is revealed to be a royal blue cocktail dress adorned with costume jewels. Made of neoprene, the dress features delicate puffed shoulders, a la Cinderella, and a hidden corset. The fairytale frock is topped off with a red sparkly tiara and a matching heart-shaped necklace.
This is actually the second time Minnie has teamed up with the French fashion house, the first being last November when Lanvin created a pink and red ruffled number (below) for her appearance in New York department store Barney’s Disney-themed Christmas window display, titled ‘Electric Holiday’.
Minnie will wear her blue dress during a special fashion parade taking place at Disneyland Paris on 23 March, as part of the park’s extended celebration of its twentieth-anniversary, commemorating the opening of its gates back in April 1992.
