Follow the Yellow Carpet: Sue Wong for Oz the Great and the Powerful

Oz Yellow Carpet

Oz the Great and the Powerful had its London premiere last night and, despite the chilly British weather, the ladies of Oz – Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis – managed to turn up on the yellow carpet looking pretty glam!

So it’s a fitting time to mention the Sue Wong ‘Oz’ collection of evening dresses, which were inspired by the film. Sue Wong specialises in evening dress in the $200-$800 price range and is inspired by romance, mystery and Old Hollywood glamour, all of which are appropriate to a film about Oz. For this collection Sue was inspired by the art deco of the Emerald City (visible in the green cocktail dress), the black and white scenery of Kansas, China Town porcelain and the theme of Good Witch versus Bad Witch, as evident in the dramatic full-length black and champagne gowns.

It’s probably just a coincidence but don’t you think Sue Wong’s dresses look a lot like the dresses Michelle, Rachel and Mila wore last night for the UK premire?

Sue Wong’s collection is available at select Neiman Marcus, Saks, Bloomingdales and Macy’s stores and Oz the Great and the Powerful opens on 8 March. And we have it on good authority it’s a pretty great film so be sure to check it out!
