There’s No Place Like Home: Oz the Great and Powerful Comes to Selfridges

1-Window 1

Yesterday Selfridges’ Shoe Carnival opened to great fanfare alongside their collaboration with Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful. As well as two gorgeous window displays dedicated to Oz, Selfridges revealed Nicholas Kirkwood’s Oz-inspired designs (read our interview with him here) not to mention their own yellow brick road…

The first window (above),  which sits to the left of Selfridges’ front entrance, features original costumes from the film worn by Evanora (played by Rachel Weisz) and James Franco’s Oz, surrounded by opulent furniture amid the green glow of Emerald City. The green evening dress is absolutely breathtaking close up, sparkling in the light.

The second window, directly on the right of the front entrance, features Disney’s deluxe Glinda and Theodora costumes, which are available to purchase from the Disney Store (you can read more about these here). They look really impressive in real life with jewel decorations and feathers and each outfit is flanked by its respective Nicholas Kirkwood shoe with the yellow brick road in the background.

If you follow the yellow brick road into the store you will find all kinds of delights including whimsical hot air balloons and real yellow bricks from the film, as well as the Nicholas Kirkwood Oz collection, of course!
