Wicked Witchcraft: Kob Levi’s Disney Villains Shoes

Something wicked this way comes: Kobi Levi’s villains inspired shoes for Disney. The Israeli-born shoe designer, who describes his creations as ‘wearable sculptures’, has conjured up three designs inspired by evil dames Ursula, Maleficent and the Evil Queen.

Kobi Levi Disney Villains Ursula 1Levi said of the collaboration, “My choice to work with Ursula, Maleficent and the Evil Queen was an easy one. I always loved them. Although they are all stereotypes, each one has her uniqueness and a distinct character and temperament.” That uniqueness has been carefully incorporated into each of the leather crafted shoes, all of which feature the villains’ faces hand-painted onto the insole.

The Evil Queen is a heel-less peep toe that frames the queen’s face whilst the upper part of the shoe serves as her crown, which wraps around your ankle. The peep toe itself is the nape of the Queen’s neck and is just begging you to paint your big toe the same colour as her necklace.

Their naivety captures and makes me feel like I’m in a magical world.”

Kobi Levi Footwear Disney Villains MaleficentLevi graduated from design school in 2001 and since then has worked on numerous collaborations (you may remember him from his bubblegum shoe, which went viral a few years ago) and is currently designing his own women’s shoewear line in Tel Aviv. He makes each creation by hand in his studio: “The challenging technical development is the key to bring the design to life,” he has said. Luckily in this case he has only brought the villains to life as fabulous footwear rather than havoc-wreaking rogues.
