I Dreamed a Dream: The Designers of Dreams Fashion Show at Disneyland Paris

Designers of Dreams Disneyland

This weekend Disneyland Paris celebrated its twentieth anniversary in the capital of fashion with a fantastical catwalk show featuring nine of Europe’s finest designers. The Designers of Dreams fashion show marked the extension of the 20th anniversary festivities at the park, which will now continue until 30 September 2013, to give everyone a chance to celebrate the magic.

Taking inspiration from Disney characters large and small, the designers’ fashion fairies worked as hard as Cinderelly to ensure their creations were completed in time for the enchanted evening. Disney already gave us a sneak peek of Minnie’s outfit, which was designed by French fashion house Lanvin, and now I can finally unveil the eight other designs! Stay tuned for a more in-depth report coming soon.

Philip Treacy Peter Pan HatPeter Pan hat by Irish milliner, Philip Treacy: a fabulous trilby, although we can’t help but wonder what he would have done with Maleficent’s horns…

Alexander Terekhov Alice in WonderlandAlice in Wonderland dress by Russia’s Alexander Terekhov: a gorgeous take on Alice’s pinafore that reminds us of the dress from Tim Burton’s Alice.

Luisa Beccaria - JasmineItaly’s Luisa Beccaria designed a Princess Jasmine inpired gown: an ethereal dress ideal for a magic carpet ride.

Custo Barcelona MaleficentCusto Barelcona of Spain created an outfit inspired by Maleficent: this pop art creation incorporates glass, metal and leather for a punk/goth vibe.

Jean Paul Knott - Snow White's AppleBelgium-born Jean Paul Knott’s Snow White apple dress and cape: we love the fact that Knott chose to focus on something more offbeat rather than the Disney Princess herself.

Sibling - Mary MouseLondon’s Sister by Sibling created an outfit for Mary Mouse (from Cinderella): read more about the knitwear label’s inspiration here.

Michalsky - CinderellaGerman designer Michalsky envisioned this midnight-blue concoction for Cinderella: the sparkly booties are a great nod to her glass slippers.

Will you be visiting Disneyland Paris for the extended celebrations this year?
