A monster film that will leave you shaking – with laughter!
We just got back from a preview of Monsters University! (As you can see, Rotund Sully came too). Without revealing too much, we can assure you that it’s a super fun flick and despite being a prequel there are still enough surprises to keep you hooked all the way through as well as some new characters to fall in love with (look out for Squishy’s mom and her interesting/hilarious taste in music).
Afterwards there was a Q&A with director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae, who revealed some fun tidbits including the fact that Mike’s parents were originally written into the movie (with Billy Crystal voicing both Mr and Mrs Wazowski), although this was cut to make Mike seem more alone, and Helen Mirren, who plays Dean Hardscabble, insisted on auditioning for her part.
And just because, check out this Mike’s Melon Bread we spotted in Tokyo Disneyland a while back. Pretty cute, huh?
Monsters University is out on 18 June in the US and 12 July in the UK (why so late? Boo!).
Will you be checking out the film when it’s released?
