It’s almost our favorite time of the year: Halloween! (Oh, who are we kidding. We pretty much start celebrating All Hallows Eve from midnight on September 30th.)
Now, as everyone knows, the two most important parts of Halloween are 1) candy and 2) costumes. And now that we’ve plowed our way through the Halloween candy stash (twice), it’s time to get focused.
Disney films are obviously super wholesome so what better time than Halloween to sass up the characters’ closets. And while we’re not saying we subscribe to Cady’s assessment of Halloween in Mean Girls, we’re totally loving these adults-only versions. Check out our top 10 below.
1. Rapunzel – Hot Topic
So puuurrrdy. OK. We have a confession to make. We prefer this version of Punzy’s dress to the one she actually wears in Tangled! Link
2. Ursula – Party City / Escapade
3. Lady Jack Skellington – Party City
Gender swapped characters are always fun. And we love this outfit so much we’d probably wear it out on regular days too (maybe minus the hat and gloves). Link
4. Sleeping Beauty – HalloweenCostumes.com
This Barbie-fied version of Aurora’s dress is SO PINK. Merryweather would hate it but we think it’s cute. Link
5. Cinderella – Disney Store Japan
6. Maleficent – Trashy
Somehow we don’t think Angelina Jolie’s version of Mal will be wearing anything like this but that doesn’t mean you can’t! Just make sure the kids are asleep. Link
7. Little Mermaid – Hot Topic
A sweet interpretation of Ariel’s outfit that will thankfully keep our midriff out of sight – because not all of us can have abs as toned as a mermaid’s. Link
8. Evil Queen – HalloweenCostumes.com
This regal outfit will ensure you’re the fairest of them all. Might be best to stay away from apple-bobbing though. Link
9. Belle – Trashy
Gaston would have gone gaga if he’d seen Belle in this little number. And no-one goes gaga like Gaston! Link
10. Cruella de Vil – Leg Avenue
No puppies were harmed in the making of this costume. But it might break a few hearts. Link
