Disney’s new live-action Cinderella flick opens in theatres today in the US (other parts of the world still have to wait a few weeks – bibbity bobbity BOO!) but whether you plan to Disneybound during a screening or simply wear some Cindy-inspired accessories, we’ve got you covered with 10 of the most enchanting items money can buy.
1. Dress from Black Milk
We’re huge fans of Black Milk here on Maison Mouse and when they release magical pieces like this who can blame us? This Cinderella play dress is part of their officially licensed Princesses and Villains collection and would look perfect paired with glass slippers or sneakers!
$90 from Black Milk Clothing
2. Glass Slipper Necklace from the Disney Store
If the shoe doesn’t fit, don’t despair – wear it around your neck instead! This cute enamel glass slipper from Arribas is the perfect finishing touch to any outfit. And take heart in knowing that even Cinderella star Lily James couldn’t fit her feet into the glass slippers made for the film (she had them CGI-d on instead!)
$25 from Disney Store US
3. Chain Strap Purse from Samantha Thavasa
Japanese accessories brand Samantha Thavasa makes the cutest Disney-themed handbags and this Cinderella chain-link purse is no exception. It comes in midnight blue and even features Cindy’s furry friends Jaq, Gus and Mary – adorable!
c. $84.50 from Samantha Thavasa
4. T-Shirt from Valentino
Cinderella is usually associated with blue hues so switch things up with this cool tee from Red Valentino. Add a bold-coloured tutu skirt, leather jacket and boots for a proper punk princess look. This shirt would also go perfectly with the naughty Sophia Webster purse below (see no. 10).
$150 from Saks Fifth Avenue
5. Bracelet from Disney Couture
In the new version of Cinderella, the princess-to-be often repeats her mother’s mantra ‘Have courage and be kind’. But the slogan on this Disney Couture bracelet is equally appropriate: ‘Have faith in your dreams’. Cinders did and it worked out pretty well!
£35.99 from Truffle Shuffle
6. Swarovski Slippers from Melissa
We are obsessed with these J. Maskrey ballet slippers by rubber-shoe makers Melissa, which are designed to ‘make any girl feel like a modern-day Cinderella.’ It doesn’t hurt that each pair is covered in hundreds of crystals from Swarovski – who also created the glass slippers that were actually used in the film.
$395 from Melissa
7. Dress from Hot Topic
If you prefer your Disney Princesses a little more goth, this Cinderella dress from Hot Topic may be what you’re looking for. The skirt features a print from the animated film and pops against the black bodice. It would look great paired with Mary-Jane shoes, ripped tights and a denim jacket.
$24.15 from Hot Topic
8. Phone Case from Disney Store
Cinderella might have been a bit more punctual if she’d had a cell phone with a watch function – which would mean she’d also need a fancy case to match her outfit. This mirrored phone cover comes with a 3D jewelled butterfly and even has a handy illustration of a clock on the back to remind you to keep an eye on the time!
£17.95 from Disney Store UK
9. Sparkly Heels from Juju Jellies
If you’re looking for a pair of Cinderella-inspired shoes that will take you from the Disney Parks to a ball, these JuJu Jellies glitter jelly heels are a wish come true. With their short, chunky heel and buckle fastening they’re cute and functional – and most importantly they won’t slip off when you’re running for the
pumpkin carriage bus.
£28 from Office Shoes
10. Purse from Sophia Webster
This one is a little NSFW (we can’t imagine goody-two-shoes Cindy swearing) but Sophia Webster’s naughty speech bubble bag is perfect for stirring up a wicked stepmother. Pair with the Red Valentino tee (at no. 4) for a princess-inspired outfit with attitude.
£130 from Harvey Nichols (currently sold out)
